Cory has been in the insurance industry for 12 years. He is currently with State Farm Insurance and works in the field as a Business Underwriting Specialist for the last 5 years. Cory graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Cal State University, Northridge and earned his CPCU designation in 2013. He has most recently held past chapter roles of Vice President and President Elect, and he looks forward to serving as President in 2019.
Kayli has worked in the insurance industry for 10 years, and she is currently a Business Underwriting Specialist with State Farm Insurance. Prior to this role, she worked in Auto Claims and Fire Claims. Kayli graduated from the University of Southern California and she received her CPCU designation in 2016.
Peter has been with the Orange Empire Chapter since January 2011 as our Treasurer. Peter got his bachelor’s at Cornell University and Master’s in Finance at Pepperdine University; he is a corporate finance supervisor at the Automobile Club of Southern California for the past 13 years. Peter received his CPCU in 2010, his AIAF in 2012 and his ARM in 2017. Peter lives in Westminster with his wife and 14-year-old daughter, and they enjoy skiing, camping, traveling and playing tennis.

Jade is a graduate of Cal State Fullerton and double-majored in Spanish and International Business. She received her CPCU designation in 2013 and is currently a Supervisor in the Personal Lines Automobile Unit at Mercury.
CPCU, AINS, AIC
Chris earned his CPCU designation under the President’s CPCU Scholarship in 2012. Chris also holds the AINS and AIC designations. A graduate of Cal State Fullerton, Chris has worked at Mercury Insurance in Brea for nearly 15 years and currently serves as the Manager of Mercury’s Underwriting Training and Audit Department. Chris will be entering his sixth year of serving on the CPCU Orange-Empire Chapter Board.
Roni is a Commercial Liability Claims Representative at Farmers Insurance. Prior to that, he worked at State Farm for 9 years handling personal lines auto liability claims. He has worked in the insurance industry for the past 10 years. In 2007, he graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and an Insurance Minor. While attending college, Roni met his love, Valerie. Roni and Valerie moved from Illinois to California in 2010 and were married in 2011. He earned his CPCU designation in 2017. Roni enjoys playing basketball and shooting pool. He has two cats, Gatsby and Twinkie.

Cheryl is currently a Senior Underwriting Manager at Mercury Insurance and has worked in the insurance industry for the past 36 years. She was awarded the President’s CPCU Scholarship from The Institutes and earned her CPCU designation in 2013 and obtained her Associate in Insurance Services, AIS designation in 2014. She immediately became active in our chapter and has held the following roles: New Designee Chair, Vice-President & President Elect. Cheryl is very excited about her upcoming role as President of the Orange-Empire CPCU Society Chapter.

Robert ‘Bob’ grew up in New Jersey and is a graduate of East Carolina University in Greenville North Carolina. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He began his insurance career when he returned to the Northeast and started as a claim representative with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in New York City, NY. In 2003 Bob joined the Automobile Club Enterprises. He's currently a group manager with responsibility for auto physical damage claims for the organization. Bob holds CPCU, AIC, CLU and ChFC designations. He enjoys public speaking on topics related to Insurance Claims and Leadership.

Trisha has worked for Mercury Insurance in the Underwriting Division for 25 years and is currently enjoying her role as an Underwriting Supervisor. Trisha earned her CPCU designation in 2016 and also holds her AINS and AIS designations. In her free time Trisha enjoys traveling with family and friends.
Joan has been in the world of insurance for over 20 years and currently is a Commercial Property Underwriter for Mercury Insurance Group. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Temple University in 1997. Joan obtained her CPCU designation in 2014 and has been an active member of the board since receiving her designation. She has previously served as the role of New Designee Rep and the last four years as our Webmaster/Social Media rep.
Raymond received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Irvine in Mathematics. He received his CPCU designation in 2000 and Associate in Management in 2001. Ray is currently an Administrative Underwriter for Mercury Insurance Group and has been in the Insurance Industry for over 25 years. Ray has the Membership Chairperson since 2015.
Leah is currently the Career and Professional Development Advisor at Cal State Fullerton, Center for Insurance Studies. She worked in the insurance industry 30+ years on the commercial product management and underwriting side. Leah received her CPCU designation in 1993.
Greg Nelson is an insurance consultant with 30 plus years of insurance experience in many areas of company and agency sales and operations. Receiving his designation in 1984, Greg has been a confinuous member of the board of directors of the Orange Empire Chapter since 1988. He's held many officer postions including chapter president and currently is the chairperson of the research committee, a role he has filled for the last 10 years, publishing a number of research papers in the Journal of the CPCU, CPCU Insight, and other insurance industry publications.

Melinda has worked in the insurance industry for 25 years and is currently a member of the Personal Lines Auto Underwriting team at Mercury Insurance. Melinda obtained her Bachelor of Science from Cal Poly, Pomona. She received her CPCU designation in 2016 and continued her insurance education by obtaining the AINS, AIS and API designations. Melinda has 2 grown children and love to read, travel, watch movies and enjoy being around animals.

Susannah received her Bachelor's degree from Cal State Fullerton in 2001 with a major in Liberal Studies and a minor in Spanish. She was awarded the President's scholarship from The Institutes and earned her CPCU designation in 2017. Susannah is currently a Senior Underwriter for Mercury Insurance Group. She has 2 young daughters and enjoys movies and travel.
