Raymond received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Irvine in Mathematics. He received his CPCU designation in 2000 and Associate in Management in 2001. Ray is currently a Senior Underwriter for Mercury Insurance Group and has been in the Insurance Industry for over 25 years.

Dwight Shackelford


Dwight earned his CPCU designation in December 2018. In addition to the CPCU, he also holds the AINS, AIS and API industry designations. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Concordia University, Irvine and his Master of Education degree from Northeastern University. He has worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years, having worked at the Automobile Club of Southern California for his entire career. He currently works as a Training Specialist for Insurance Sales, operating out of the Education, Training and Development business unit (AAA University).In his spare time,Dwight enjoys reading, watching documentaries, listening to music and watching movies.

Susannah Falabella


Susannah received her Bachelor's degree from Cal State Fullerton in 2001 with a major in Liberal Studies and a minor in Spanish. She was awarded the President's scholarship from The Institutes and earned her CPCU designation in 2017. Susannah has worked in the insurance industry for 19 years and is currently an Administrative Underwriter in the personal auto department for Mercury Insurance Group. She has 2 daughters and enjoys leisure time with family and friends and travel.

Chris Cook


Chris earned his CPCU designation under the President’s CPCU Scholarship in 2012. Chris also holds the AINS and AIC designations. A graduate of Cal State Fullerton, Chris has worked in the insurance industry for over 18 years. Chris will be entering his ninth year of serving on the CPCU Orange-Empire Chapter Board.

Peter Pokorny


Peter has been with the Orange Empire Chapter since January 2011 as our Treasurer.  Peter got his bachelor’s at Cornell University and Master’s in Finance at Pepperdine University; he is a corporate finance supervisor at the Automobile Club of Southern California for the past 14 years.  Peter received his CPCU in 2010, his AIAF in 2012 and his ARM in 2017.  Peter lives in Westminster with his wife and 14-year-old daughter, and they enjoy skiing, camping, traveling and playing tennis.

Cheryl Guyatt


Cheryl is currently a Senior Underwriting Manager at Mercury Insurance and has worked in the insurance industry for the past 37 years.  She was awarded the President’s CPCU Scholarship from The Institutes and earned her CPCU designation in 2013 and obtained her Associate in Insurance Services, AIS designation in 2014.  She immediately became active in our chapter and has held the following roles: New Designee Chair, Vice-President, President Elect, & President.

Joan Williams


Joan has been in the world of insurance for over 23 years and currently is a Commercial Property Underwriter for Mercury Insurance Group. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Temple University in 1997. Joan obtained her CPCU designation in 2014 and has been an active member of the board since receiving her designation. She has previously served as the role of New Designee Rep and the last six years as our Webmaster/Social Media rep.

Alex Munguia


Alex Munguia joined Lancer Claims Services in 2011 and is currently a Director for Lancer Claims Services. During his past 6 years, Mr. Munguia has been adjusting professional liability claims in the areas of insurance agent errors and omissions and broker/dealer and registered rep errors and omissions programs. He graduated from California State University, Fullerton in May 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a Concentration in Risk Management and Insurance. CPCU in Good Standing.

Leah is currently the Career and Professional Development Advisor at Cal State Fullerton, The School of Risk Management and Insurance. She worked in the insurance industry 30+ years on the commercial product management and underwriting side. Leah received her CPCU designation in 1993.

Emilia Horton


Emilia is a graduate from University of Louisiana at Monroe with a degree in Risk Management & Insurance and Accounting in 2017. Completed CPCU in Fall 2021. E&S underwriter specializing in commercial insurance and I have been with Amwins Access since 2017. I enjoy water skiing, reading, and golf.
